Worth Pilgrims

Abbot Mark and the monks of Worth Abbey invite you to join Worth Pilgrims, a network of friendship and fellowship centred at Worth Abbey, offering opportunities for deepening our Christian faith, travelling together in prayer and service, and offering a warm welcome in the Benedictine tradition to all our friends and those who are discovering Worth for the first time.

Worth Abbey Festival: ‘A Place of Beauty and Joy’, Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August 2022 from 1.00pm – 4.30pm

This special Open Day will celebrate the beauty that is Worth, sharing the monastic offices with the monks in the Abbey, including music from the Abbey’s resident, internationally acclaimed organist. There will be a guided walk through the Worth estate with pauses for prayers and reflections, tours throughout the afternoon exploring the historic rooms in Worth School, visits to St Bruno’s Retreat Centre and the Open Cloister programme of weekday and weekend retreats, activities for children and afternoon refreshments on the South Terrace overlooking the Sussex High Weald.

The event starts at 1pm with Midday Office led by the monks in the Abbey Church, which will be open for periods of silence and for music all afternoon. The event will end just after 4.30pm.

Families are especially welcome. Admission is free. There is plenty of car parking.
