2025 Global Peace Day Theme: Act Now for a Peaceful World
The Day coincides with UN World Peace Day. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
A Prayer for Peace in the Holy Land
Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed, we lift to you the people of the Holy Land: Israelis and Palestinians, Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
We pray for an immediate and sustained ceasefire, and an end to all acts of violence, terror, and hatred. We ask for an open pathway for unfettered humanitarian aid to reach all who are in need of food, water, and medical care.
Grant wisdom and compassion to all leaders and those who hold power to make just and lasting decisions.
Soften every hardened heart and fill them with Your peace. Comfort those who are fearful, grieving, and hurting,
and provide healing for the sick and wounded.
May the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, bring reconciliation and justice for all people. May all hearts be transformed to see through enemies the path to you.
We pray that in this land made holy by Your presence, a lasting and profound peace may be established, that honours the dignity of every person. In Christ’s name, Amen.
