The Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is the first of three sacraments of initiation and it is therefore a person’s entry into the life of Christ. The first Baptisms were for adults, but probably very early in the history of the church infants were brought for Baptism.
How We Prepare
For Infants & Children:
For parents-to-be or parents in the parish with new babies, we offer a dedicated Baptism Preparation Course. This course is a welcoming space not only to prepare for your child’s baptism but also to rediscover what Baptism means in your own lives. (Dates for our next course will be announced shortly).
For Adults:
Adults seeking Baptism are usually prepared through our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) journey.
Requesting a Baptism
Please note: Baptism is only offered for families living in the Worth Abbey Parish and for regular parishioners.
Taking the first step is simple:
- Say Hello: We warmly encourage you to introduce yourselves to Father Paul or Father Rod after Sunday Mass to express your interest.
- Get in Touch: Contact the Parish Office to register your details and find out about the next available preparation course.
