Supporting teenagers and young adults as they navigate big life transitions, deepen their faith, discern their calling, and build lasting Christian friendships.
Teenagers
Teenagers are challenged in their faith by rival activities and by the transition they need to make from a child’s faith to an adult’s. Many young people fall away at this stage and don’t allow themselves the opportunity of discovering what faith can offer.
Family Faith Formation has dedicated groups for teenagers and takes place after Sunday Mass. Sessions usually take place on the 3rd Sunday of every month during term time. Young people aged 16 to 18 are also warmly encouraged to support Junior Church during Sunday Mass.
theAscent
🎒 Designed for School Years 10–11
theAscent is a three-year discipleship process involving three residential weekends a year, monthly mentoring, and weekly online group sessions. It is designed to take young people with a real interest in their faith, helping them to make a deeper commitment and to explore who God created them to be, at the same time as making new friends and having fun!

Youth SVP
🤝 Ages 11–14 | Putting Faith into Action
Youth SVP is a Christian organisation for young people who want to put their faith into action and make a real difference in their local community. With an effective formula of “See, Think, Do,” groups of Youth SVP members meet in schools and parishes across England and Wales to discuss how to support people in need around them.

🙏 Weekend Prayer Festivals
Youth 2000 seeks to draw young people into a personal relationship with Jesus, lived at the heart of the Catholic Church. It does this primarily through vibrant weekend prayer festivals held throughout the year.

Lectio Divina for Teens
Lectio Divina is a prayerful way of reading Scripture that helps us listen to God’s Word, reflect on its meaning, and notice how it speaks into daily life.

As we enter the world of university and work, we need extra support to help us grow in faith. We may be wrestling with big life decisions or trying to discern the person God is calling us to become. The Diocesan Youth Service offers a range of opportunities for young adults to gather, both virtually and in person, to grow in fraternity and faith.

Monastic Internships at Worth Abbey
⛪ Men Aged 18–35 | 2-Month Residential Experience
The Abbey is inviting applications from men between the age of 18 and 35 for a limited number of monastic internships. Successful candidates will live alongside the monastery for two months, following a way of life similar to that of the monks.
During this time, candidates learn about the Benedictine tradition and have the opportunity to live in community, deepening their prayer lives and their personal engagement with scripture. Interns contribute by their work to the welfare of the monastery and in return receive board, lodging, teaching, and guidance.
