About Sowers
👶 Parents with Babies & Toddlers (Ages 0–3)
Sowers is a special gathering for parents with their newly baptised babies and toddlers. Led by team leader Lucy, it offers a gentle, supportive space for parents to network, share fellowship, and prepare their young children to eventually become Mustard Seeds as they grow up together in our parish community.
Sessions take place immediately after the 9.30am Sunday Mass and last for 30 minutes. Afterwards, all parents, babies, and toddlers are warmly invited to join us for the Parish Sunday Brunch at Compass House for food and fellowship!
2026 / 2027 Meeting Dates & Agendas
📅 Session 1: Sunday 13th September 2026
Theme: The Grace of Baptism & Creating a Sacred Space at Home

30-Minute Agenda:
- 10:35 – 10:40am: Welcome, informal gathering, and opening prayer for families.
- 10:40 – 10:55am: Discussion: “Planting the Seed — What Baptism Means for Daily Family Life”.
- 10:55 – 11:05am: Networking and informal chat between parents as children play.
- 11:05am onwards: Walk together over to Compass House for the Parish Sunday Brunch!
❤️: Some of the things we will talk about include practical ways parents can weave faith into early childhood (e.g., making the Sign of the Cross at bedtime, placing a small crucifix or holy image in the nursery, and praying over children as they sleep). Please feel free to share your own ideas to help each other on our faith formation journey!
📅 Session 2: Sunday 13th December 2026
Theme: Advent, Christmastide & Introducing the Infant Jesus

- 10:35 – 10:40am: Welcome & Advent blessing over parents, babies, and toddlers.
- 10:40 – 10:55am: Discussion: “Welcoming the Child Jesus into Your Home”.
- 10:55 – 11:05am: Networking and sharing simple Christmas family traditions.
- 11:05am onwards: Head to Compass House for Christmas-themed Parish Sunday Brunch!
❤️: Some of the things we will talk about include helping toddlers engage with the Nativity (e.g., using a non-breakable wooden crib set children can touch, simple toddler Christmas prayers, and protecting family peace during the festive rush). Please feel free to share your own ideas to help each other on our faith formation journey!
📅 Session 3: Sunday 14th March 2027
Theme: Teaching Toddlers How to Pray & Bringing Young Children to Mass

- 10:35 – 10:40am: Welcome & opening prayer.
- 10:40 – 10:55am: Discussion: “Praying with Toddlers & Navigating Mass with Young Children”.
- 10:55 – 11:05am: Reassurance, encouragement, and parent networking.
- 11:05am onwards: Walk together over to Compass House for Sunday Brunch!
❤️: Some of the things we will talk about include encouraging parents that fidgeting or crying at Mass is completely normal and welcome, alongside practical advice on teaching 1–2 year olds simple gesture prayers (folding hands, blowing a kiss to Jesus) and mealtime graces. Please feel free to share your own ideas to help each other on our faith formation journey!
📅 Session 4: Sunday 13th June 2027
Theme: The Domestic Church & Preparing for the Next Step (Mustard Seeds)

- 10:35 – 10:40am: Welcome & blessing of the growing babies and toddlers.
- 10:40 – 10:55am: Discussion: “Your Home as the Domestic Church — Growing in Community”.
- 10:55 – 11:05am: Preparing parents to transition children towards Mustard Seeds (ages 3–5).
- 11:05am onwards: Summer celebration Parish Sunday Brunch at Compass House!
❤️: Some of the things we will talk about include reflecting on how the family home is the “Domestic Church” where love, forgiveness, and kindness are experienced daily, and preparing parents to guide their children into the next step of faith formation as they reach age 3.
