Reconciliation

Reconciliation used to be called Confession. The new name gives a better understanding of the meaning of the sacrament. The symbol of this sacrament is the laying on of hands together with the words of absolution. This action sacramentally makes real the loving forgiveness of the Father, and the penitent is reconciled with Him.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available at the rear of the church before Mass on Sunday morning from 9.10 am. A rota of priests offers the Sacrament – Father Kevin, Father Alexander, Father James, Father Peter and Father Rod. It is also available on request. Children celebrate the Sacrament as part of their preparation for First Communion.
