Baptism is the first of three sacraments of initiation and it is therefore a person’s entry into the life of Christ. The first Baptisms were for adults, but probably very early in the history of the church infants were brought for Baptism.
Two Baptism Preparation courses are held each year – in May and October. Each course lasts 3 weeks and includes the presentation of Baptism candidates at the 9.30 am Sunday Mass in the Abbey Church. A group Baptism is held at the end of the course. Any changes, for family reasons, need to be agreed with Father Paul.
Baptism is only offered for families who are regular parishioners. If you wish to have your child baptised please contact the Parish Office firstname.lastname@example.org or 01342 710313
Our next Baptism preparation course begins on Sunday 6th October 2019. If you would like to be included please contact the Parish Office.
